Old Colony Co-Operative Work Study Program

Academic

Students must have a cumulative record that meets the requirements for graduation. They must be passing all major core subjects prior to being recommended for co-op. Decisions on grades will be made at the end of each trimester not during the trimester. Failing grades will result in loss of co-op privileges.

Recommendations

Students must be recommended for co-op by both their shop and related instructors.

Attendance

Other than "officially excused" absences, a student may be absent no more than 18 (eighteen) days. If at any time during the year the student co-op misses 18 days, he/she will be taken off the program and will not be eligible again for that year.

Other

Students must have no outstanding disciplinary problems. Decisions relative to this subject will be made jointly by the Administration, the Guidance Office, and the Administrative Assistant. Care must be taken in the selection of co-op students. They should display proficiency in the skill required to perform the job successfully. Also, perhaps more importantly, they should display a positive work attitude, so that they represent Old Colony in a positive manner.

Extended Co-Op

Students must:

  • have passed all major core subjects for the second trimester.
  • be passing all major core subjects for third trimester.
  • not be in danger of failing any major core subject for the year.
