Old Colony Regional Vocation Technical High School, for the fourth year, was the training site for an Intermediate New England Chief Architect Training Session. The three-day workshop, hosted by instructor Steve Blake, brought in contractors from Massachusetts. The subject of the training this year was rendering. Old Colony is pleased to announce the election results for the State Student Advisory Council. Elected to represent Old Colony in the Southeast Region were: Baylee Ricci – Class of 2007 (Carver) Yahaira Robles-Ferro – Class of 2007 (Rochester) Baylee and Yahaira will serve from May 1, 2006 through May 1, 2007.

Two Old Colony RVTHS student-athletes have been recognized by the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association and the Athletic Department for exceptional sportsmanship during the past basketball season. The recipients were Kerrie Rousseau (Acushnet – Class of 2006) and Mathew Hudon – (Acushnet – Class of 2006).  

Three members of Old Colony’s National Honor Society represented the Chapter at the April 4th State Leadership Conference at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. The Honor Society students were: Amanda Murdoch (Acushnet) Kyle O’Neill (Lakeville) Keith Morgado (Freetown)

Three members of the Old Colony boys basketball team have been selected for the Mayflower League Basketball All-Star Team. Seniors Alexander Amaral, Nathan Deree, and Joshua Pinzino, all from Acushnet, were selected. All-star selection is made by the Mayflower League coaches. The Cougars are coached by Albino Perry.  

Two Old Colony students will be participating in the state’s annual Student Government Day. CIT seniors Stephen Bernat (Acushnet) and Alexander Amaral (Acushnet) will be representing Old Colony on April 7th at the State House in Boston, MA.
