Grads leave with diplomas and special skills

The message on Erin Taylor’s graduation cap spoke to her feelings: “I want to sing with all my heart a lifelong song.”

The class salutatorian and treasurer for the Old Colony Class of 2018 said her goodbyes to classmates and the school she’s been a part of for the past four years, but she said she doesn’t leave empty handed.

“I’m so glad I went to a vocational school,” the Rochester resident said. “We did a project my junior year in my graphic communications and design class, where we started a T-shirt company and we had to do the design from scratch. I based my design on Tenth Avenue North, a Christian music group from Nashville.

Coordinated Program Review – Invitation for Feedback

Aaron Polanksy, Superintendent-Director of the Old Colony Region Vocational Technical High School District was informed by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education of an upcoming Coordinated Program Review that will be taking place this school year. As part of this Coordinated Program Review, Department staff will visit the district during the week of April 2, 2018. Such visits are routinely conducted by the Department to satisfy federal and state requirements for the periodic review of specific education programs and services in schools throughout the Commonwealth. The department is reviewing several programs during a single visit in order to use Department and school staff’s time most efficiently and to encourage strong connections among the programs.

Any member of the public may request to be interviewed by telephone by a member of the Departments visiting time. For more information read the full press release here.
