Spanish
Spanish I (Parts I and II) is an elective course offered to interested juniors and seniors. The course is intended to provide students, who will be pursuing a college education, the opportunity to fulfill the foreign language requirement necessary for certain college majors.
Spanish I is presented four (4) periods per week to the student who has had
very little or no prior study in Spanish. The course, characterized by a
"conversational" approach, aims to present the target language in an
interesting and stimulating context so that the students' experience in
acquiring a second language will be an enjoyable one. The course also provides
an introduction to the culture of the Spanish-speaking world.
This course:
- fulfills foreign language requirements for certain college majors
- provides the basis for more advanced levels of foreign language at post-secondary institutions
