An interesting thought about Science:

-- If it STINKS, it's probably CHEMISTRY!
-- If it's SLIMY, it's probably BIOLOGY! &
-- If it doesn't WORK, it's probably PHYSICS!

Welcome to Old Colony Science!

Starting in school year 2004-2005, Biology will be added to the Science Department's newly revised curriculum. The purpose of the science education is to assist the new graduation requirement of 3 years of science education starting with the class of 2007, and to fulfill the Department of Education's requirement of the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS). The following is a tentative implementation schedule for grade 10 students:

Biology MCAS

  • 2005 - pilot test
  • 2006 - operational test
  • 2007 - operational test for Competency Determination (?)
  • 2008 - operational test for Competency Determination (?)
