Old Colony’s Robotics Team to Compete in Vex Robotics – Southern New England Nothing But Net Championship.

In only its second year of existence, the Old Colony Robotics Club has qualified to compete in the Southern New England championship. The Robotics Club began in 2014-15 with the donation of a Vex robot. Under the volunteer direction of Mr. Dan Brush, Electronics Engineering Instructor and Mr. Bill Trimble, Science teacher, a small but committed group of students spent countless hours preparing their robots for battle. On January 9th, 2016 at Bristol Community College, the team of Seniors Nick Smith, Jesse Goodwin, Sophomores John Barnes, Tanner Safford, Jasper Tan and Freshman Ben Jensen qualified their robot. On March 5 & 6th, the team will travel to Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester to compete against 67 other qualifying high school teams from MA, CT and RI. The March competition is a qualifying event for the World Championship in Louisville, KY in April.
